That there's WORTH sayin somethin bad about. UPS should NEVER have delivered something like that to the porch without a sig... Either the sender, or the carrier (UPS) dropped the ball and owes you a colt.

well the sender is a top notch gun smith. he did everything he was suppose to do. i don't blame him or his business. but ups made a series of mistakes. leaving a package at a abandoned house. that is clearly marked as abandoned. notes on every windows by the bank who now owns the property. no mail box at the resident and from what i have been told by a guy i know who worked for ups , they can not leave any package with out permission, and a package containing a firearm must be singed for.
but the sad thing and no one i know understands this. that colt can't be replaced. even if i was given a million dollars to buy all the colts in the world with. it will not be my colt. the one that counts. the one that has been on all of my mis-adventures and old west shoot outs. the mountain of critters i have shot with this gun. the gun that has slept beside my pillow every night since 1994. if this gun is lost and is never returned to me, a big part of me is lost. that gun has been by my side since i got it. and now its gone. a lost i can't hardly cope with

Billy,
Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Many things in life are not replaceable. I do understand. I lost most everything in a fire once. I have heard that stealing things that are delivered, has jump to a much higher occurrence. This is really frustrating. Delivery to a abandoned house! NO excuse! Are you or the cops checking those "shops" who deal with hot goods out? I will be praying that by some miracle you get this back. Did you ever get repaid for that money order?
phoenix,
We are alive and kicking up north. Spring and green grass seem a long way off. It snowed again this week. I had two doe kids born last week when we were getting inches of snow. I even breed for late kids so that the weather would be good. lol
The kids (two legged) are growing like weeds. Loren is busy with orders, and me I'm trying to juggle to many plates. lol I just helped my mom fix a spool rack onto her barn loom so that she can make rugs right off the spools and not have to warp after every few rugs. It was getting hard on her. I heard from her this week that she is weaving again. Yes! I took me awhile. lol Nothing went as planned. lol And than I got "help" which only meant that I had to redo it all. (only 280 some threads)
Well take care everyone, paweaver

The interent and phone line was knocked out along with the electric for a bit."Thankfully." electric was back on next day. However it was a few days without hp,and iternet.I continue looking for more work.I have spent alot of time out knocking on doors of opportunity. Resumes & applications I did hear back from a radio station.A contempory Christian station, thought it sounded pretty interesting.Especially since that would be some of the music I sing."O by the way,to those who don't know that's one of my hobbies."Maybe one of these days I'll record a CD.That's been plan for along time.I'm just a wee bit on the shy side, especially when singing my music infront of others.Or standing and singing,or sitting and singing infront of other folks.I do sing at events for church,in fact it's a plan for singing on Easter morning. One of the ladies in chrge gave me the sheet music, and CD the other day.Got a few other things I'm prayin about for this month. You said to ya was interested in what we was all up to.Speaking of Easter it's right around the corner,I guess it's the 3rd Sunday from now.The songs was selected by the church choir leader.I enjoy good music!!! I had alot of branches to pick up from the storm, gettin the ole yard ready.Clean up day here in town.Gonna volunteer for abit.Figured I better finish up work round here at my place.Pecan trees have a way of leavin lots of little sticks behind.I go for the Country look these days, don't live in the City any more.Used to have what they call a manicured yard. Now it looks like your in the Country round here.Well, hopin and prayin for good news. Lord, please help Billys gun to be returned to him somehow,I still beleive in miracles. "Thank You Lord"hope you guys don't think I'm too silly.God says he's concerned with everything that concerns us.So,I beleive it... ( how about everybody say Hi,,, next time they peek in.)Also,Lord... please help everyone here in all the things that concern them, and help us all to cast our cares on you. If it dont turn up in the local pawn shops, I'd lean on the delivery man... It almost sounds like an inside job... too many mistakes on the part of UPS for it to be coincidence.
Prayin for the return of your .45 calibre friend...

Another rainy day here. Just working three deer hides today and maybe pre stretching one. I also have a odd ball project hide- I'm dryscraping it with only stone tools. I'll show some pics of it later. Some friends of Liza's friends that are down here visiting are coming over to wring a hide they are working on. They are city folk, so working on hides where they live is difficult. I just normally figure no one wants to hear about my boring life, lol. I also rebuilt my smoke house this week-I'll post pics of it later. We call it my redneck time machine, 'cause that's what it look like now.

Well I wanna hear about it. I put MY boring life up for all to see, folks seem to wanna know what I'm up to. I think what you and Liza are doin is exciting, Wifey and I Home schooled our kids and taught them some oddball (by societies standards) skills... Some of those skills have helped save the life of one son in Iraq. Nuff serious stuff though, I gotta post the Duck Truck for y'all (soon's I load alla dem blasted pic's to Photobucket)

About that storm,,it was quite a storm.I'm in Oklahoma, between Tulsa,Ok & Coffeyville,Ks. My dad grew up along the River Banks and told stories of bein on Will Rogers Ranch,as their family was Ranch Hands, and lived on the old Rogers place,or so they called it.And he and his brothers told many tales.Tales about ridin the ole trails and fishin and playin along the banks.Seems as I read these stories, it makes his life more apparent to me.The survival, of those with large families, and some of the day to day livin. My dad was not much of a talker,so as I have learned to see,how important these trades and skills are.And wish any others, could see, what if life was different then as we each one know of it to be.There are so many things happening around us in this world. As I mention to others, it sure would help to know these skills. On a funny, but serious note."There's an song called Country Boy can survive."I listened real close. He's says he can run a trot line,he can skin a deer, and for those of you who know the song. Then you know the rest of it.And just as we parents want our children to know first aid.Or we want to them to have good life skills. And that's just abit of what we teach them thru education. It's also important they know how to survive a camping or float trip. There are many skills to be learned and to be taken serious. And I see that many have alot of fun with the family.Teaching them the old ways, and that they not be forgotten. And many of us could grow to be better,by remembering the ways, how our parents and grandparents, and those before them lived.Just teaching the skills and making them available to learn, just as they are presented here,on "The Buck Rub."Seems like more and more people will be wandering, what is it all about.Just with the daily news alone. There is many reason to learn, the Arts and Science to life, as our GrandParents did.Well,on a lighter note....youall have a good evening!!! And on a funny, brighter, and lighter side to the subject.Last year I got back up on a horse,I hadn't been on one in twenty yrs and I tell you,it was something!!!I refused to not let it get the best of me.I had my sister stay there, until I had gotten situated. It was funny,I give you that. And I said,I'm gonna keep workin on it.I rode the horses we had as a child. We had alot of fun.Our church had old fashioned day,we rode buggies, horses, the kids had rides, baseball, games, the pastor and his crew barbecued and we just had a big ole picnic, and the time of our life.Good ole fashioned fellowship... well, I better go..good night folks!!
