I have seen some nice looking case made out of tanned beaver tale. Great looking dog. Mine used to help me when i worked with rawhide. he tried to help me when I did my beadwork but 4 feet and beading thread make great knots.

They sure are a challenge to skin Cody.. Wish I had more of them.. lol. Having fun with them. I've never used a skiving knife but possibly those might just do the trick? Takes some patience, I know that! Good to see ya Cody.
James- I have a friend that was giving me some tips on how he's seen them done..so will get back with him.. don't think he wrote that those ones he's done were 'tanned' though.. so will have to research some more..It's tough tanning them.. guess it might be impossible to tan them with those scales.. I will again have to find out the deal on these. I sure love our lab.. still a pup..just turned a year yesterday.. He got a squeaky rubber chicken and a giant see in the dark collar. Not sure how long either will last!

;D Beaver tales? Ok, these both weigh 80 lbs apiece and I caught them with my bare hands. How"s that for a tale?
