paweaver, im glad i could added some more thing to your make list, everything have to take the time its need to do, i found a small picture on birch backrest inside my tipi, this is 9 years ago when i made this tipi., well time to walk up in the woods and see if there are any animals or birds to talk with-

no, lt, i never have bad dreams in my tipi, i only have one dreamcatcher, the other you see there is medicinewheel, coyotefacemandella, drum, flute and a lot more that not are on the picture, i cant post all i have there think you know why., ahhh, yeah tipi life is more than beautiful experience.,

paweaver, i think you want to see the tripod? i have to take out the backrest to take photos from back and side, it´s a little narrow to take photo behind the backrest and lining, sure i take pictures for you later when have my cleaningday.,

I'm doing research on twine weaving and found this quote. Thought I would share. It comes from American Indian Art Mag. Summer 1977 p.56 "Most of these tribes also made fine, decorated mats, some of plaited cedar bark and others of rushes twined with cord of basswood fiber. The mats, supplemented with soft furs and tanned skins, were effective in covering the floors and lining the interiors of the wigwams."
The tribes that the article is about are the Northeastern and the Great Lakes tribes.

paweaver and all who like backrest, had a nice sunny morning up in the woods, toke pictures on tripod and a few more on backrest in various views, the 3 tripod poles, you need one longer and two shorter, my 2 short is about 5 foot and the longer is about 6 foot, also if the should be right need painting, hope this is good enough explanation? bdw., great research you did.,

Ended up taking my willow bed apart. Some of the willows were just not straight enough. Went and cut more, and am continuing on from that point. One of those long projects.
