A few people have asked to see some of my stuff, so I thought I'd just put up some photos for them. It's all stuff I've made over the past year or so. Some of my odds and ends. (The furs are wolf, coyote and red deer) Decorated flask Another decorated flask Flask Tiny potion flask (the runes spell Hawthorn) A deerskin pouch A selection of archery bracers Some of my damascus. I didn't do the metalwork, but I did do the handles A belt with mystery braid Closeup of the fastening Some shoes I made My five year diary Another shot of the diary Hope that's not too boring. Eric

Eric, Wow, some great work there. Where can I get your pattern for shoes? I don't think I'll do the Roman sandels, but would like to be able to make the shoes with the laces on them when I get some barktan done.

The damascus items were made by a Norwegian bladesmith who was sadly killed in a hunting accident a couple of years ago (he walked off a cliff in dense fog), so there will never be any more of his work available. I got the blanks a couple of months before the accident. The dam axes I handled with hickory from some sledgehammer shafts that were on sale for pennies. The larger knife I handled from spalted birch and is my EDC and favourite. The smaller knife was forged from steel brought up from the German pocket battleship "Tirpitz", which was sunk in a Fijord in WW2. All the blades are made from HC armor plating steels and hold their edge for ever. Eric

good looking stuff, hate to here about your friends accident Yea, it was a shame all right. What his widow didn't know though was a mutual friend had a box full of his damascus blades to sell over here in England for him. He sold them all and raised a few thousand, which he gave to her when he next went over to Norway. It came in handy. Eric
