Well I got to start on it today and I think it will turn out very nice. I'm gonna be using an antler from a mule deer for the handle. First I selected a section I liked and cut it from the skull. Then figured out how long it will need to be and cut it off there. Had to cut some of the tang off the blade. Here's both pieces. Drilling out a hole for the blade to go in. ***Be very careful and go slow here or you might drill out the side of the antler.*** Then I mixed up a two part epoxy. It is called 2 ton epoxy. Then I filled the hole up to the top. Insert the blade slowly or you'll force all the epoxy out. Make sure to have a rag or paper towel handy to catch any epoxy that does get out of the hole. After this handle it very gently and set the blade exactly how you want it and let it set overnight. I put a paper towel in my vise and clamped it down for the night where I know it won't move or get knocked over. Next I'll be getting all that mildew off and varnishing the handle and maybe adding a little rawhide to it. Just have to see how it looks as I go. Till next time....

I finally got my piece of rawhide dyed to the color I wanted. I ended up using hickory nut hulls and coffee. Took about 3 days to get it right. Now I've got it wrapped around the handle and waiting for it to dry.
