Hello, Its been a while sence my last post, Was a little busy. But with you guys help I did get My striker from the trapsprings to work, And they work great. Iheat treated them twice, Now Im going to try to make a trap spring knife. Any sugg. would be great.

do you have pic of the spring you wanting to use. you can cut the srping in half where it been folding, then make it a stick tang knife or make a full tang knife. it kinda how you want to do it.

No, What I was wanting to do was to straiten out the spring and make a full length knife ,To tell you the thuth I am very new to this, Ive made a lot of stuff by just grinding it down, so this is a whole new thing to me. I as of right now dont have a camera but soon I will, And Ill send pics, THANKS

youll need to anneal that metal before you do ANYTHING. step 1) heat them to non magnetic and hold them at that heat for a min or two, then bury them in vermiculite or clean ash and let them cool. then you can forge them like any other salvaged steel,, its really important that you anneal them first since they were hardened and tempered they may likely crack otherwise. best to be on the safe side
