Well, got a few more things done today. I expect to be finihsed with it by tomrorrow evening. Today I did some reinforcing of the lid and back of the bag. The back section is where the laptop will be stored. The inside pocket and pen holder you see are actually on the divider and face the front of the bag. Then I turned the bag inside out and reinforced all the way down the back of the bag Usually when I am hand sewing, I bunch the fabric up in my left hand until I am holding the seam, but with the bulk of the elk skin, I am not able to to that, so I just lay the bag over the edge and it gives me a good angle for entering the hide and coming out on the webbing. The same angle I would get if I were holding it all in my hand. I am using a Blind STitch to attach the lining to the lid. The actual color of the fabric is NOT this purple as it looks in the photos but somewhere betweeen a brown and a maroon. I decided to use some wool binding I have to bind the edge, and also gives me something to attach the lining to. JOe made a button out of an elk shed antler we found. It is not quite a bulky as it appears in this photo, and since the bag is large, the large button will look ok on it. The lid will have a leather thong that will wrap around the button.
