It's amazing where clicking a link will take you, isn't it? I was discussing looms and weaving and stuff with PA Weaver from this forum over on PaleoPlanet, and she gave me a link to here. Well, knock me down with a feather! I've found another great place to visit. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I should tell you who I am first. Well, my name is Eric Methven and I live in the north east of England. I've just turned 58 and am retired (almost). That doesn't mean I'm idle though - just means I have lots more time for my hobbies. I love living history, re-enactment, experiential archaeology and I love making stuff. Leather mostly, but also stuff from wood, and some blacksmithing too (mainly to make all the tools I use for other crafts.) Some of you may already know me from PaleoPlanet, or Frontier Folk, or Muzzle Loading Forum, in which case hello again. Then there's my new pet project Mountain Man UK which I set up to try and get people in the UK who love the American Fur Trade era together so we can organise events. I know there's lots of wannabe mountainmen in England, but until now it's been difficult finding out who they are. Anyway, that's enough for now. I look forward to both learning and contributing to this community in the near future. See you all on the forums, Eric
