Looks real good Billy! I'm trying my first two. They are still hanging outside getting cleaned up. The only thing is the antlers have started to lighten quite a bit. They still need some cleaning. If the animals don't finish, I'll boil them some and try the power washer on them. Thanks for the picture! Dave

thanks yall.
dave i boil mine. i just throw the hole head in the water after it comes to a good boil. i mix about 1/3 a cup of baking soda in the water and let it boil till there aint much meat left. what little bit that is left while the head is still hot i pick the meat of with pliers or a screw driver. after that i just bleach it. if i can't get it white enough, flat white spray paint works real good. then i clear coat it, mount it to a board and its done.

hey dave you, said the horns on your skull mount was lightening up in color. you can find some wood stain thats close to the same color of the horns and lightly rub it on there. i just stick my finger in and dabb a little here and there, a then try to wipe it off. if it don't look right take some 0000 steel wool and brush over to lighten up the stain. wal nut color does good with matching up. on the skull in this picture i got a little bleech on the base of the horns, which put white spots on them. all i had was rose wood stain and it match good also. just keep in mind they are darker only around the bases and are usually light in color on the tines. hope this helps

Very nice skull mount here.. I like the very dark bases the most.. sets off the skulls and tines more, imo.. have to find out how to fix the skulls to the wood now!
