Well here it is, finally finished. Took me 7 months to get it done, and right at 300 hours. I cant wait to spark it off now... Early Lancaster: .54 cal, 36"x1" GM barrel, Grade 3 curly maple stock.

very good looking lancaster. the lancaster is my favorite of flintlocks. you sure have a gun to be proud of

Thats way cool pintail Im working on a southern mountain right now ,hope to put some in progress pics on when I can get the brains in the family to post them .It sure is fun aint it.

Took her out to shoot today. Was quite suprised it didnt blow up in my hands...that is always a plus. One of our friends lent me some powder to spark a few rounds off. shot a few stumps just to see if it would work. then i put it on paper. 2-3 shot groups at 25yds. Not bad. 1st group is the bottom 3, 2nd group is the top 3.

that be some good shooting. i bet it would be real close to being dead on at 50 yards. good looking rifle that shoots good and it was built by your hands. thats something to be proud of.
do you cast your own bullets?
