lol. . back at him.. hopefully this coyote is going to continue cooperating ...anyway.. I've pulled one of last years coyotes out of the freezer and I'm using a pizza cutter I picked up while shopping the other day to help me slowly stretch out the coyotes skin fibers. I painted on the stuff last winter to tan it with.. so just softening slowly. thought I'd share the pics.. he's sure a beauty. I had to pull the cartilage out of it's ears is all.. sew up a few small holes and well just slow drying. It's fur was almost totally dry and I'd cleaned it last winter too.. so should be looking to whip him up into a hat soon I hope. I have a guy that's been totally patient waiting for him. He wants a lined one and naturally I don't think I have any more lining material lying around.. figures.. I love these tricksters. Totally beguiling.

Thanks for the reminder Zack. See sometimes I forget to think just how good I've got it. Out of the mouths of babes I guess! Too bad you weren't around while I was skinning them! I had to thaw every one of them first. I'd love having a kid around that is interested like you are in just doing it. Means a lot to me to read your post Zack LT, always great hearing from you too! No not to be something for myself. One of these days! I'd sure love a long fur coat. Maybe some day.
