i took K and dropped her off at Pillissippi State this morning about 830. i knew I had to pick her back up a 1130 and didn`t want to drive back home and back to school. It`s 16 miles one way and I figgured 32 miles is better than 64 as fuel cost goes. I figgured i`d slip on down to the fishin hole just a short way down the road. I got to the fishin hole and started casting with a yellow roostertail. the fish were inactive. I moved around some and kept throwing the roostertail as it had been productive a couple od days before. i was just about to change lures after this cast when i got a strike. I set the hook and started to crank when snap. That fish started to run and stripped line and snapped my rod like a toothpick. Now this was a Garcia appex that I have cought many good sized fish with. I grabbed the line to try to haul the culprit in by hand. The line pulled so tight it cut the little finger on my right hand before it broke. Went back down there with my 5ft 6in trolling rod with 17 pound test and same kind of roostertail and the coward never showed up again. i`m just glad I wasn`t using my new ultra lite combo that i like to use for trout. I shall return again and again!!

when you do catch that sob the best thing you can do with it is cook it and eat it with a big ole grin knowing you won in the long run. good luck
