the top right worm I did not make, was made by a guy in Texas, the 2 finished ones I just made. The bottom I just started on and need to finish the file work. easier to make than you think, thanks to Buckskin Billy for his thoughts on them.

real easy to make these, I'd been putting it off until Billy told me how someone just simply uses pliers to make the curls. It's not worth firing up a forge to make just one , what I did was gather up some round stock , each about a foot long , 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch was what i just had. Heat and flatten out the ends about 1 1/2 inches from the ends, not too flat but maybe 3/16". split that flat part down the middle with a hacksaw , then heat again, seperate enough to be able to file them. Work them down to a tapered point. Heat it up , twist one at a time and try to keep it straight with the shaft. That part was easier than I thought. After your satisfied with the curls take it to the bench grinder and rough shape it close to what you want. Then I used a drill press and files to finish shape it. Drill and tap for the size you want. I used 8-32, and 10-32. I could probably do it faster with a propane torch, especially the small shafts. You can finish them up in a hand drill , but I seen it easier in my drill press, good project to play with.
