I like it a lot Billy. the stitching gives it character. Might have been spur of the moment but think that is all it takes is the gumption just to do it. I like the beadwork and the top flap there it all looks really good. I have seen several lately that others have made that just 'didn't have it' and yours although just whipped up looks a helluva lot nicer than theirs did. I like the fact that your pouch will be used and you ain't goin to be afraid to get it dirty. Saw one just the other day that was nothing more than two pieces of leather whipped stitched together with white thread.. the guy was all worried about getting it dirty.. Something about that just BOTHERED me all to hell. Guess his wife was teasing him, too, calling it his 'man purse'.. yep, I can see why. Yours inspires me to make something myself.. been wanting to for awhile.. just gotta do it. I rebrained some deerleg skins this morning and was looking around the net on that Native Tech site and the Women of the Fur Trade site and just trying to figure out what and how I want to construct the next buckskin bag I make.. and now hopefully the deer leg skins are 'sweating' in the plastic bag I put them all in.. I have 4 stitched together.. dunno if that makes them any quicker or easier to work soft or not, really.. I think I will take them apart after and sew two together for the front and add some fringe or strip of skin or something between the front two and back two.. maybe a welt and some fringe.. dunno.. guess there's really about a million possibilities.. I have a wet dishtowel in between the skins.. they'd been chillin in the freezer now for awhile.. couple of months:-) maybe.. so they're setting in this bag over the woodstove this morning.. hopefully they'll come quite soft this time.. this is only the second time to brain these and the first was pretty encouraging. so hopefully this time! Anyway didn't mean to steal your thread or any daing thing.. guess you can tell at least that your work is inspiring to me. thanks for posting it.

thanks for your kind words joanne.the main reason i do this stuff is to use it,just like they are suppose to be.not knocking anyone who don't want to get their stuff dirty.every chance i get i try to get away and step backwards and do things the old timey way. it gives me something to do besides numbing my brain watching tv.it gets me outside.wish i wasn't sick with the sniffles, been invited to go on a rabbit hunt tommorrow, really want to go but i guess i'll have to nurse this nose crud i got.can't wait to see the pics from your projects

Nice bag and it is useful, I haven't tried bead work my ex did some nice stuff and so does my present wife. She beaded my shirt in the picture.
Would like to try some quill work my wife does some I just haven't been able to talk her into quilling my moccasins.
