Dunno about our thundering red brother, but I'm an instinctual shooter... I look directly at what I wanna hit, pull it back, and let it fly. I dont aim, I concentrate on what I wanna hit, my arms and hands automatically adjust to make it happen. It takes a while to learn, but it's faster than aiming it like a rifle.

redthunder,
Glad to hear from you! Your workmanship is always beautiful! A feast for the eyes.
I have a really funny archery story. Several yrs ago I worked a trade so that all the kids got a Osage stick bow of their own for Christmas. We took them to a 3 D archery shoot for fun. So here we are the only ones not shooting compounds. lol There is this deer target way out across the field. My daughter (who has this weak little Osage bow) draws back, aims instinctively, and shoots. There is this man standing beside her that has a fancy compound (all the bells and whistles) that shoots at the same deer target. My daughter's arrow hits directly in the kill zone and bounces off, the other man's was a clean miss of the whole target. lol You should of seen the look he gave her and than the expression on his face as he looked down at all his compound whistles . lol It was totally priceless.

That old compound bow was left by someone who owed me money. He only owed me about 20 bucks, but he never came back to get it. I keep it around for my middle son (Grown up mind you), who can't handle the string slap of the longbow. When he shoots the hickory bow, he whines like a puppy for hours
