Hello, It will offically go off at 3:00 am Wends morn the Tornado watch/warning.They(sirens)went off 3 times in a 30 min period,or approx I contacted a team that's over asst/relief for the Red Cross regarding Joplin Ms there's still so much to be done, before they can even start, other very important task.My family cont to come check on me,I figured we would be there for along time.So I kept closley informed,re: weather Joplin,Ms had F4-that I heard was upgraded to F-5.Please pray for those folks, the Tornado was 1/2 mile wide and 6 miles long.I do have some family there. And I suppose the Neosho River has flooded, other areas In Oklahoma has flooded,as well as Tornados hit Oklahoma."Thankfully,"my sister and her husband lives In a house with a basement. It was built in 1903.When this was just Indian territory, even the abstract states such. It's pretty cool ,just to read the abstract, this wasn't even a town yet.But not long after I beleive. She has a basement, where all the neices and nephews were in safely. The guys had went to a Bass Tourney over at Grove,Ok Sunday when they had just left and the Tornado tore up the Boat Docks and some areas they were just fishing the Tourney at.They deceided to Barbque, when the Tornado news event, was all over the news, regarding Cleora,Ok next was the Dissaster In Joplin. It was such a scare my son didn't even want to come home.SO,I left him there, where he felt safe.Me,,I prayed left went home, prayed some more. And have had to return regarding such several times.I do apprecaite the prayers.....very much so....I will go if I have to.But,I wait as long as I can safely.Tornado watch/warning almost over....... So glad to hear that you're safe, White Dove! So awful how devastating the tornadoes have been down south. Just plain foolish to live down there and NOT have a plan.. See many used to have the shelters right there under the house itself. Seems the most sensible way to me. Some only have maybe a 10 minute warning, if that! Think I'd have a living room full of dirt and sawdust for a long while burrowing into the earth below! Of course it wouldn't do much good if one wasn't HOME! Hopefully the big chain stores will add huge basements when rebuilding. Maybe the folks there had a slight amount of time to try to find shelter.. they had none. I think the tipi's fared much better than the 4 walled homes by design. Hope my friend in OK is well. He recalled seeing many during his lifetime. Used to live in his tipi too! One could certainly dig a burrow below a tipi! Again. So glad to hear that you're safe and sound WD!

Hello Paulette, "Thank You."I am fine... I do have some relatives that were effected up that way in Joplin. But,they are going to rent a home now,as the Tornado damage was severe. As it was I did not end up going that way.I offered to go assist,as I have training with Red Cross.I was on standby,Pres will be there Sunday I'm told.If that is indeed a fact.... greatful my sister has a basement underneath her home which is over 100 yrs old.Still sturdy...even after all these yrs.....great foundation.I have helped with alot of new homes cleaning and upkeeping prior to their sales of homes. They aren't made like they used to be.I do live in a mobile home,so I stay home as long as I can safely.I have had the add on pulled up off and somewhat over before.Had to have it reattached, hopefully I will be able to keep this one.And soon someday,another...home is where the heart is.I really feel for those people...it's really devastating.....good to hear from you.
