Yep it is real,it is a younger bull, thier horns are strieghter,as the age they get more curved.I know a guy that raises them.23 inches on the spread.Yours would be an older bull.Real buff hair around the horn caps too.
Very nice skull you have!

I also have a friend in Minnisota that had a butcher shop,he closed it this year,he told me they couldn't give the skulls away as there are a couple hundred buff ranches in his area.Sometimes customers would take them home wrapped in the cape,he is sending me another one.I'm going to fix it up for him. This is the first one i ever had,one thing i learned is the American Buffalo is an animal unto it's own, horns more like a hair,i have a small piece of buff fur and i know now why they used it as blankets and such, man you can put a couple stacked on each other and make a very comfy matress!Wish i had a whole hide.. Just for fun here's a website you may like www.thepipemaker.com/

At that age the horns will curve. Lets don't leave out the possibility of it being a female , her head is this large at 2 years of age and will have straight horns until about 3 years of age.

I have a very small 12x12 piece i have been using for some crafts.I made a hatband the other day and trimmed the hair down and it' almost just like brown sheep wool..I wonder if anybody ever lined a coat with it?It would be very warm material~
I will put some turquoise buttons around it too...
