hello, I am new to this and hope pics come thru ok.. I enjoy beading and have been sewing in one form or another for a very long time.. below are pics of something a little different, a sheath for folded razors or straight razors... and for those of you who enjoy the larger belt knife sheaths: i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj189/hardworkinggal/beltgrplgfeb08.jpg[/IMG]

I just have to ask. Do you bead on soft leather then cover hard leather? Your work is breathtaking. Would you share with me how you make them? Or refer me to a book that explains? Appreciate it. I'm wowed!!!

Yep, those sheaths sure are lovely, nice work! I like the straight razors a lot, too. Are the sheath designs Blackfoot? sorry if I'm off on that. I don't know a thing about the cultural colors, design.. I hope we can become friends. did you tan the skins yourself? Are they lined with calfskin? Sorry just had to ask. again, plenty beautiful. I tried to pick a favorite but they were all to beautiful to choose just one:-).

Longtrail, there is a book by Alex Koslov called Plains Indian Knive Sheaths that explains in detail the construction of this type of sheath, and is available here www.crazycrow.com . The cost is about 15.00. and is money well spent!
