You know alittle rawhide in front of the hammer Frizen(i think that right where the flint string the metal)Around the whole barrel saw your seam on the bottem , then in the back behind the trigger. Would make a nice touch.

I think your right James, i'll probably put some rawhide on that trade gun sometime. I've still got to find some screws and attach the serpent plate better, and need a ramrod too. It's a smoothbore, sort of mixed up though. It's half barnett and half northwest trade gun. Not the best kit , but it'll look cool around my trappers camp.
