The dove season opened the 1st of Sept. here in Tn. I met up with mike243 and cancerfighter at my place. We loaded up in (Karen) my explorer. We hit the dove field early and waited until noon to begin hunting. For some reason the dove season starts at noon. We set up on the hill top in the middle of the field and waited. the temp. was in the upper 90`s and I sunburned my sunburn. The birds finnaly hit the field around 5;30 and flew for around an hour. They were few and spread out. Then they just stopped. I shot my old mossyburg 12 gauge pump 22 times and hit a lot of air. mike243 was able to down 9 birds and cancerfighter fared no better than I did. We hunted until almost dark. I didn`t get nuffin but a bruised shoulder and a sunburn but had fun. That`s what counts.

I'd like to go huntin with my old Huskyvarna double hammered 12 guage with brass shells...Has an ivory front site too.Got it about a year ago and no chance to shoot it yet.It is built like a tank with a greener lock system and clean as new.My family used to sell hunting supplies for dove, pheasant, fishing and such, ain't been huntin since pop retired, never really had to,all our customers would mostly never eat the booger and brought them to me and pop by the bag fulls,me and the old man used to scarf up man!!!
Man i miss those days!
