Starting out the day with cold coffee! Someone using the electric knife sharpener on the blade she used to cut more deer hock skins forgot to plug the coffeemaker back in!.. SO.. I'm sure the day will look even more bright with a nice cup of hot coffee..
Dang when I signed in this morning there were 15 guests.. WOW. How are y'all doin? WELCOME to the buck rub forum.. not sure where the folks are that started this forum but they really should drop in and say hey from time to time! Let us know they're still ALIVE! Hopefully you all will find something interesting to post about this coming new year? I would love to hear from some new folks. Life's short, live a little! Tell us who ya are, where you hail from and what you've been up to. Or come to this forum for?
I'd like to take a moment to say how much I appreciate James, Skinner's and Cody and Thundermoom hang in' out. I'm sure there are more that frequent the forum regularly.. Please post! Its always good to have guests express that they have enjoyed their stay. Sometimes there really ISN'T too much to say! Life can be very challenging with all kinds of personal issues that just make being amenable sometimes difficult.. so guess we all know what the heck tough times are like.. we are United in these here States, so.. you've got good company here. It's all been said before! No!.. that isn't what forums are made of. I was sorry to see one of our members, White Dove, leave. I think she truly tried to be pleasant and open and friendly and someone quelched her fire. that is truly sad.. WTH?.. and that in itself is sometimes extremely difficult in the toughest times. I don't' know how she made it through such a scorcher of a summer down there in OK, really. Having her share her life's journey was an asset to us all.. sure made you stop and think! Mostly about how grateful I am to be in MI!! She was a tough gal who'd been through a lot and will continue with challenges everyday, and she was also a firm believer in Jesus Christ, so although she didn't know a lot about the topics on here, I enjoyed her banter and pics a great deal, always!! If anything I wish to be MORE like her in 2012! She will be MISSED here on the Buck Rub. But she is free to come and go as she likes so.. where do we go from here?
For the folks that do contribute here on the forum, I'm very thankful for you all as it makes my day better to see that you're all trapping and tanning and weaving and well 'DOING'. you're all movers and shakers..so nice to see that you're all still kicking! Love to see the pics and love to read the words from your end of the road. it's what campfires and forums are mostly about. as far as this forum being DEAD? hardly. I'm here! and I'm far from it! swamped with DEER HIDES! YES. I hope to not see Many if any, of those stink in' coyotes this year.. they're trouble.. betwixting! who needs them? I need to tan some more deer hides, very relaxing and satisfying work. I know that.. starting hoof first might be a good want to go! Well maybe not!.. I'm doing plenty of hide trimming from the get go. I do hate to toss out the leg bones with the hooves attached.. BUT my dog has them in and out the doggie door and well sometimes it's just not real sanitary so.. sometimes I just have to pitch them.. the resource is renewable.. hopefully!
So.. hoping the ones left hanging around will inspire those dropping in to do some buck skinning or maybe some knife making this year? there're plenty of ways to tan them so GET TANNIN' so.. don't really care what your preference is.. just doing it together is very enjoyable. i
Let's keep the campfire burning! We can use the hardwood ash.. and the drama's. Let's see some posts and some pics! from your side of the tracks. or tipi.
Warm regards, Paulette
