Hello All !!! Would be nice if some would feel free to log in and tell us Hi!!! Interesting thing I saw the other day in Nevada. I saw a book just setting around at someone house just waiting to be read.(LOL)!! And that topic was on furrs and trapping...small world!!!Would like to see some of those folks log in and share pics and ask these ladies and gents about their different methods for brain tanning, and the others mentioned in "The Buck Rub".The cold weather has arrived at many places. Pull up a chair and set a while....share your pics. And mine will soon be added too. There's many topics to be found here. And always remember there is campfire too. ... where you can visit, if topic not found elsewhere.WhiteDove

Hello.. Nevada eh? any pics?? so.. a book on furs and trapping just waiting to be perused eh? so what if anything did you learn from reading it? I'm working on tanning a beaver fur. I'm thanking the creator for providing a Dakota Pro! They're a little tough to tan w/out thinning them down well. I suppose one COULD use a wahinkte tool.. for thinning it down after drying it out of while it's mostly frozen! But yeah.. I'm taking ALL the shortcuts on the beaver fur skin...including the powerwasher fleshing. Not at all the way the mtn men did it. Well anyway... it's my story and i'm sticking with it.

Hello Paulette, A few pics I did get but from another area.Still may be able to get a few more.I noticed the book where someone else had it out to be read,on my way out the door.It did make a good conversation though. I certainly understand why you would be very Thankful for your Dakota Pro!!! I beleive the mountain men also would use those tools if they were handy then. You have got to do what works. And by your pics it certainly works for you!!! It was mentioned they traded furs and trapped. But have now deceided to try working on it themselves. I always find that interesting!! Keep on the good work Paulette, it's always a pleasure to see your work and hobbies displayed!!!
