Here is an older photo of a medium size elk that we have around here. This is my son ( who leaves for bootcamp at Ft.Bennings in three days ) Hamming it up with some hunter's elk. We have seen some really huge ones taken out of the surrounding areas. Like 7 or eight point, massive bodies and horns. We caretake a hunting lodge that is only open several weeks a year during elk archery season. When you hunt the breaks, you hunt. There isn't any sitting in a tree and waiting for something to walk by ( my idea of hunting, ;D). Lots of guys come here and get frustrated by all the hoofing one has to do to find where the elk are, then to get close enough to them for a shot. Usually only two or three are taken a year by the guys at this club PWMA Sportsman Assn.

Holy! That is an awesome picture. Your son looks way cool in that picture with that massive creature..wow.
I can see that that antler's last fork there just above your boy's hand would be the handle for the elk hide scraper? or no? Don't have one of my own elk horn scrapers but sure wish I did.
thanks for posting the way cool pic LT.

Thanks Co, Ya, I think he plans on going airborn, no legs in the family yet. Thanks for the prayers. Draw a rifle tag and come on up yall. Like I said, we caretake a hunting lodge. All you would have to do is pay food. Bring yer walkin shoes.
