I thought that I would share a few photos of some projects that I made in my Dad's tin shop last summer. He got into the tin business after I left home. I'm starting to get a chance to learn from him. I was surprised how much I enjoy it

Thanks, my work is differently not on the level of my father's. Attached are two pics of his work. I will be taking some pics for him this weekend if you are interested in seeing more of his work. He has done pieces for museums and many reproductions. I'm not PROUD if him or anything ;D Hope my kids can be as proud of me someday. tin night This is a night light that is a reproduction- It throws beautiful patterns of light on your walls. The shade protects the candle from breezes. tin box This is a very small deed box. He makes them is all sizes.

Hey, I've been working on taking pics for my Dad. Thought I'd share his Sleepy Hollow Lantern with you. Also thought that I would share pics of our daughters work. We home-school and usually once a month they get to spend the night at Grandpa's house. The girls get to work with him in the tin shop and doing all kinds of neat things. This trip he had them re-dipping candles and shaping the bottoms to fit his in candle sockets. Gramma is teaching them story telling. She is great! Used to hold our attention so well. They girls got to pick their own pattern and punch the tin for these night lights. Grandpa did the soldering. I think that they did a great job on this. Dad was laughing at me because he went to show me which night light belong to which girl. I told him whose was whose before he could tell me. He said how did you do that? I just smiled and said that I just knew my girls.

Wished I could afford a punched tin candle lantern always wanted one .Liza there sure is alot of pluses for home schooling I did last year and probly will next year ,there is alot of freedom afforded by it . Well, maybe you could afford a little one. I think that Dad sells his little night light lanterns for some where in the 30 dollar range. I could ask if you are interested. It would make a nice gift for your wife and you would get to enjoy it too. They are beautiful at night. They throw patterns all over your walls and ceilings. Dad has a punched tin lantern with faces punched in it. The history of it makes it distinctly Pennsylvanian. We have one which our kids love to take it camping and fall asleep with the faces dancing around the tent walls. Homeschool - I didn't realize this when we first started, but I believe now that homeschooling is a life style choice. Basically no system is perfect public, private, or homeschool. Each has its own problems. Just take a hard look and decided which problems you want to deal with. The truth is as much as I like doing it I probably would have given up by now, but it is very important to my husband too. Thus we keep each other going. It is a lot of work you know! I didn't realize until my Mother pointed this out to me, but our family works as a complete team. She feels that our homeschooling contributes to this. She says that the school systems were always separating my sisters and I by our ages pulling us all into different things. We do some things separate, but usually it is together. I love 4-H. One direction, one trip, and they can all branch off into their own interest. Guess I better quit, I getting long winded. ;D

hot diggity! I like that stuff ALOT, we need to talk about some barter methinks! yall need any blacksmithing? Thanks, I'll need to talk to Dad about the blacksmithing. He is a blacksmith himself. Shod Horses all my life and did other smith work too. Since he's had two heart surgeries he doesn't fire up the forge very often. He might jump at the chance I don't know. Give me some time. We are trying to set up a web site for him. It should be up in another week. Then you can check it out and maybe talk to him directly. Myself I love to do the tin work, but right now I'm pretty busy with my family and our business. Our one daughter might work into being Grandpa's apprentice though.
