Just in case any of you are still reading my posts, seems one or two are. So this is to you guys. Our neighbor friend we were teaching to do hides, had to move to SW Montana and he gave us all his hide stuff. Several tools, about 75 deer hides, mostly mule deer with a couple smaller white tails, five or six elk hides. Notice the close up photo of the mule deer hide, it seems to have some white tail hair on it too. Biologists say they don't cross breed, but tell that to the moose and the buffalo right? We also purchased a Dewalt 3800 psi pressure washer. We went with a Dewalt from Home depot because I have a card for there and I couldn't find the $999.00 extra cash I had laying around (Not!) Anyway Joe is looking forward to having his shoulders and elbows getting a break after 20+ years of fleshing and dehairing. Thanks for the great idea Paulette. Here are some tools he made Heres the trailer of hides Here they are all stacked according to thickness Here's a nice size muley hide. A lot of them are this size. Here's the Muley hide with the white tail hairs on it. First one we have seen for a long time. Will send a photo and report about the washer when we try it in a couple days soon as UPS delivers it .

Awesome! That is a great score. Maybe you could help me out with a leather shortage! It seems like I have lost the place I used to trade with. Looks like spring made it there too. Congrats! Jon

We still have 250 we are obligated to pick up from our fur buyer (spit-spit) who we buy hides from every year. Looks like we will be busy. But thats good.
Hannes, ya I hate when that happens too. Hows your pressure washer working for you?

vicky, my washer is workn well, but i dont use it myself. too busy with the teeth!. therefore, i dont know why it takes the staff 20 min per hide. i have never been so busy with the teeth. i heard someone pulling and pulling the starter and it could not start, cause it was not switched on! sure way to stuff my good machine up in no time. the hunting season has some how started early this year. the 1 hunter has dropped 20 hides a day for the last 3 days!
