Caretaker, I had one of the same guns once, I think we called it a snake charmer. For living out in west Texas you couldn't beat it for the rattlesnakes and whatever went crawling along. Myself I'm not fond of the .17, it might not be too small for everyone though. I carried the .410/.22 in the boat with me several times, was easy to carry around and if I remember it would float?

I got stevens 410-.22 my grandpap's Rabbit & squirrel gun. I got a .17HMR, fast, flat shooting alot of different ammo now days for it. you heard the old saying " when the bullet hits the bone" it will expand very fast and do some damage. lets see i'v dropped alot of squirrels, a half dozen or so yote,s, 3 bobcats. 1 pain in the a$$ otter, I did have to shoot a beaver 4 times. a good cross wind well effect it out after 50 yards. off a good rest you can put 5 shots in a dime size target at 100 yards. I put a redfield 4x12 on it , I like it. they came out with another .17 a down size or somthing, never heard to much good about that one.
