Not the traditional method of hanging it on a belt, but had to show it off anyway. It is fully lined with calico and I used different colored brain tan for contrast. Cant recall what size beads they are. I wish I had taken a closer photo.

Running, or my version of it. I like my beads to feel secure on the leather. I do like the lazy stitch, just havn't used it yet. Unfortunately I do not bead from the top of the leather but the bottom. I have beaded from the top on a few projects, but was not as happy with the outcome. I need more practice. Do you guys bead from on top of the leather?

I guess I do I dont know any other way .That bag is really nice.I do a lazy stich with 4 beads and skip a space and come back through on the way back and fill in the space going through the first beads again ,it seems to make them stiffer .Thats just my method

There are quite a few different methods the old women use. The one that taught me, did the middle strip first, then worked down. When the bottom half was done, she flipped it over so she could work down the other side. I use rows of 6-10 beads (size 12 bead). I will have to take some pictures. but I will try to explain. put 8 (eg.) beads on your needle, and lay it on the hide. the needle will enter the hide immediately where the last bead is, and at a 90 degree angle in the direction you are moving. The needle only goes about half way through the hide and comes out about one bead's width to the right. put 8 beads on your needle, and come back the opposite direction. This lady would scrawl parallel lines in the hide to keep the lines straight. I use a piece of masking tape. pictures will do more justice. I'll work on that for you.

Thank you all for the information. I may as well learn how to be more traditional in what I make. I look forward to the photos. dlt
