Im just about finished with the article. Just a few finishing touches before I send it to Native Tech for posting. Just had to show you a comment I made in it .
"We have met tanners who keep secrets about their methods. I can't figure that one out, ignorance on thier part I guess, the selfish need to know something others don't know, sort of the mentality of "this is my ball, and you can't play with it". There are also people who take information that is not theirs, that they have not spent years discovering, and use it for their own profit. I can figure that one out, GREED and incompentence in their own abilities, drive thier dishonesty. These people know who they are and so does everyone else. ( Sorry for that rant, but it is a general principal issue we have delt with in the past and are currently dealing with)"
Dont worry, thats my only RAG!! The rest is great stuff. lt

Well IMO, just so long as that's your story and you're sticking with it, I don't suppose it'll make a whole heck of a lot of difference one way or another. I'll be looking very forward to reading it and employing your method best I can..I'll most likely be trying to pick your brain about this or that along the way. Thank you for updating your hide tanning information on that site. Thank Joe for me for sharing this with us as well. His baby, too, I'm sure.

He does most of the work. The new way of prestretching was my discovery. I'm claiming credit. But your right, its an effort put forth by both of us. What is IMO? I make omlets? Imaginative motus operendi? Infected monkey ovaries? I am afraid I am not up with all the text lingo. DYFCMD? Do you ****** catch my drift? haha

Hannes, Longtrails got such long articles now over at the Native Tech that it really appears to be more like a book than and article. Her first article there reads by 'chapters'. I've read it now a very long time ago and well I copied the first couple to my computer last night, just so I wouldn't miss a thing from those! The gal really knows her braintan, no doubt about it. Bob K is a pretty marvelous beadworker.. no question. You can tell he's absolutely obsessed. I'll give 'em that!! www.nativetech.org/

man oh man! how nice to getc a few lines from THEE dinsmore lady! off coarse paulette has been talkn to me bout you for a while. yes , fporgot ur name now, impala, but i get bout 30 blesbok skins dropped off her a weeek during hunting season. off coarse tried to work on them all at the beginning, but now defn. more choozy. many are just not worth it.i have done 1 baboon skin , my 1st haironn braintan , and it came out so super soft. just dont know how to incorporate that into some handcraft project.? dont know of many peiple who would love some baboon hair tickling their necks! i am gettn ten warthog skins 2weeks from now and there i will have to think carefully what methods to use, and what the end product, craftwork might be. i am still truely amazed at you yanks, super handcraft. redthunder, bob k, you, beudro thaT FRENCH GUY ON BRAINTAN, GUILUME? and last but not least, joanne. when i start producing , it will have bit of each one of you guys in it.

I hope a lot of folks will give braintanning a try using your instructions. I'm waiting for warm weather.. I'll be a fair weather tanner! Yeah right.. that coyote outside hanging is one cool coyote! He's skinning very slowly.. I've got his feet and tail skinned yesterday so cutting the rest off slowly should go pretty quickly.. he might be getting sleeted as I type.. brrrrr..
