james: i have a question. now as you know i m collecting the leather tools/leather to start learning to make sheaths etc.. but i was told to get 8oz... do you use a different weight leather for sheaths that will be done with bead work? probably a dumb question but whatever.

7 to 8 oz is good for this size of knives. If you going do bowies I would go 9 to 10 oz . For smaller knives like patch knives and there kissing cousion i would go with lighter. No qustions is dumb

ok thanks james. the stuff i have is 8-9oz. i was just thinking its be way to thick to do bead work.. the leather in the picture looks soft.. etc
