I have been enlisted to help Uncle Andy in making stocks for two rifles that were in a house fire. Uncle Andy was able to save the metal parts but the wooden stocks were distroyed. These two bolt action 22`s have been restored and hung on the wall waiting fer me to come along and make new stocks for them. One is a rem 780 the other is a ruger m77. Also there are two pieces of beautiful wood blanks waiting to be made into stocks. Neither one of us saw the origional stocks and have just a vage idea of what were gettin into. We have the equipment and desire now we need the distructions. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Would postin pics of the unstocked rifles help? Thanks , caretaker

hey pard i dont know where to get any patterns for stocks. but check out this link www.e-gunparts.com/ just type in the gun your looking for and it will show what parts are availiable. you said a remington 780 is that the pump rifle?. i'm not famliar with that gun, so i can't say, but for the ruger 77. did it have a wood or plastic stock. if plastic was it one of those skeletorize one. if so that stock is no longer made. BUT the m77 is still made and any other m77 stock should fit. i don't know if the new m77 hawkeye has the same dimension as the original m77. the hawkeye is a newer gun , so the fit may be a little different. i would contact ruger and give them your serial number for the gun and they will be able to tell you what stock goes on the gun and should be able to get you another stock. from personal experience ruger has the best customer service going right now. they are great to deal with, and are very helpful. i would call remington too. they will point you in the right dirrections.
