A neighbor friend that's into knapping swapped me a couple of pieces of obsidian one was mounted already. I'll have to find a good size piece of antler for the black bowie. He left the smaller piece here as a sort of down payment on our trade I'd imagine.. he says the obsidian on this one is called 'butterscotch'. I like the clear factor.. sweet.. it's a rarer color obsidian I guess.. only one he's ever seen, anyway.. I think it's lovely, ;-) anyway the backdrop is my latest 'skinnitz. chinese beaded cellphone pouch.. kinda matches the fake sinew and plastic beads on the new knife! lol..one of Hannes lovely gift awls in the shot, too. I still managed to bend one of my non glovers needles! it really is softened deerskin..just thick is all. we grow them deer big here in N Mi, too! monsters some of them are!

Good idea, James. I have both tucked away in an upstairs bedroom. A shadow box and the knife!

Very nice blade by the way Joanne...Is there enough to take the broke out and then move the antler up.?Just tell them you had to stab a mad coyote, then you found the broke piece when ya skinned him... ;D
