I got snow up to my knees. But, I been catching a few. Working on the last few muskrats, hoping to hit 100-rat season ends this week... Little beaver caught by the hind foot in a muskrat set. Nice snared beaver And today's beaver, was another big one in a snare. We got lots of regs. Can't set on the dam, gotta be 15 feet from the dam or lodge, only two 330's etc, but the good part is that the season is in until the end of March.

Cody, Good job on the otters. We can't trap them here. We have a few, but they are protected. Have to turn them in if you kill one in a beaver set. We are only allowed twenty traps total for beaver. Only two can be Bodygrippers. I like snares, but some spots are just easier to set up with a 330. I got five more muskrats today, no beaver. One of the rats was in a 330, beaver bank den. Also had two snares closed. I get that a lot with small beaver and muskrats going through them. About all you can do is tighten down the loop or if you think it's rats, put a small conibear up the run somewhere.

it cold as all get out here. been a while since we had this kind of cold. the creek i been trapping on has ice on it and i had to use my hatchet to break it open a little while ago to check my traps. aint never seen no ice like that here before. nothing today. rescented the mounds as the water level in the creek has drop some. made new mounds closer to the water to be at eye level with the beavers. great catch pa skinner. i figured you had been busy catching critters thats why i called you out ;D our trapping season last till the end of march too, but we aint got all of them regulations to deal with. beavers are becoming a problem around these parts
