Had the pleasure of attending a voo in North Idaho in the Priest Lake area. Made this dress and mocs to wear to it. Dress is of Montana Mule Deer except for the textured yoke hide which was a gift. Dress is adorned with pony beads, copper conchos that I made, yellow and red earth paints, chinese coins, various crow size beads, tin cones etc. I prefer to bead with the small beads, 14s or so, but was attending a Fur Trade re-enactment so chose the pony size instead. The moccasin are hard sole, with buffalo for the bottom and mule deer for the top. The photo of the side of the dress shows a conveniently hung striker and some bear hair. Back of the dress has bear tracks from two directions. The little brown jug belonged to a friend of mine who passed years ago.. I mixed some of his ashes with the yellow earth paints, made several of these little rawhide turtles and gave them to our closest friends.
