I sure would like to skin and tan one of the yotes out there TM! All the yote hunters around here were sure whining as our snow all melted off and they need it for yote hunting! Gives me a chance to get ready!
Wow, that is such an unreal price 2 Feathers. I'll bet they don't sell many.. more like a museum than a store..but you never know some might have the money and part with it at that price.. Crazy. Yes my coyote was BRAIN TANNED and prime and very very nice.. I had HOURS into it.. gave it to the yote hunters..Gave it to the main guy's houseguest to give him and I borrowed his knife to go cut the dead female coyote out of the guys tree and toss it in the back of the new 'hot rod'. LOL. This was the first time I ever traded ahead of time.. bet the guy was happy with that yote! Getting much better at this but surely not SPEEDIER! so anyway...The yote hunters are my neighbors and I can trust them to bring lots by. What am I crazy??? they are so nasty dead.. one has no idea.. just skinless they are really scary looking.. like some kids zombie dog video game character or something. Had a big dog at one time that barked and barked at it and was scared of it.. our cat now really puffs out her tail at them. Naturally my 12 tosses her on top of it! The teasing that goes on! Really something! 39999999 I couldn't buy one for 39! Can barely put gas in the truck to pick them up DEAD..... serious! whew.. Better go out and buy a megamillion with about my last buck.. almost 300Million?? guess I wouldn't mind buying some NA's art if I had that kind of loot! Some do apparently..hmm. Sorry for rattlin' on, so!

Used to be a holding pond about five miles from my place,it had real high banks and people would dump brush there all the time on the side of the road and in the winter i had to go pick it up and hual to the dumps. Some one every year was dumping nice yotes out there,i would see up to six or so at one time.I don't believe they were shot, most likely poisoned and i never messed with those.
I came across a live one once in my dump truck layin on the side of the road just lookin up at me.He never moved, don't know why but i got out and walked right up to him and sat beside him, aparently he had been poisoned and was to sick to move,i had a chat with him with those big gold eyes lookin at me,left him a piece of my sandwich and thanked him for the chat and not biting me and said goodbye as i knew he was going to go to the great sheep herd in the afterlife...Weird exsperience man and very true.

How would that be worn or would it be worn??? It could simply be taken off the hanger and used as a lap blanket. Very nice..possibly meant to be handled. Given the same circumstance with the poisoned near death coyote, I might have looked for something to hasten its death myself and cursed the one responsible for its poisoning. Hopefully thought of a prayer for its spirit. Those gold eyes are amazing aren't they? I recall seeing gold eyes from a large bobcat that'd been hit by a car years ago.. the life remained in it's eyes for quite some time and then the light slowly waned.. incredible sight, those eyes, however, that's never left my recollection. It does leave an imprint, doesn't it? Suppose that's partially the reason that I've never had an interest in mounting any animals.. one could never recreate/duplicate that LIFE that is seen in those spectacular EYES! lol. Yep, and they call c'yotes tricksters, eh? Have to watch for those 2 legged ones.

Been a bit busy for the forums and other correspondence because of 'winter tanning in MI'. Perhaps a better name might have been winter skinning and fleshing in MI. Here's a pic of some 'fresh froze 'yotes. Nice huh?? I used the C Burrows knife some yesterday.. it was a nice break from the nastyness of working with these bloody bodies. The silvery one on the right needed to be rinsed off right away following skinning with cold water to prevent the blood from staining it's pretty fur.. still need to flesh these and remove the cartilage from the silvery ones ears and turn the lips on that one. They are beautiful animals but sure are a PITA to skin.. especially when they're frozen to begin with. I need an attached garage with hot and cold running water and a machine with "SPIN CYCLE"..maybe a few machines with SPIN CYCLE! Oh,,and the coyote on the left needed to be rinsed off before I could skin it.. going to have to find out who the heck shot that one. No excuse.. Going to have to tell that person to buy another dang gun.. no excuse to bloody them like that. I'm sure it wasn't the main gang..just someone going along with them that's probably too poor to buy a decent gun. Will most likely be getting more coyotes to skin this afternoon.. We got a dusting of snow and this might be great weather here to run the dogs after the coyotes.
