Yeah I like those sharp pointy things you make, James.Very nice.. toasted osage.. that is SO cool!.. Glad to know you is still KICKIN, too!! Mostly cause you do some kicka$$ knife workin' ;-) Well... I'm right in business too.. I got myself an electric knife sharpener for Christmas! How nice a sharp blade IS! I forgot all about sharpening the Chuck Burrows knife!!.. cool! I just sharpened this little John Cohea neck knifey.. Found it while cleaning out my basement yesterday.. Need to add another leather lace and see if I can find and glue another fang in place.. Definately kind of rough on the equipment around here. Your knives all look rough and tough and like they could live INDEFINATELY even around our place..well back to feeling like a zombie! Hopefully I can drag the kids away from the games long enough to help me out some more..need to make and or free up some space.. some warm space too for workin on my hides and skins once again. Hard to work in a dang basement PERIOD! Usually too cold outside or too hot in the basement! Well maybe we'll get some hides an skins tanned and be doing some tradin' eventually, James.. You hang in there and I'll try and do the same :-). ps... that is really a nice knife James! Looks like it would be really handy!

Sounds like running the forge can get a bit dangerous round your place! Best take care and be careful. Hope your house moving goes well.. seems jobs like that end up being 3x the work AND 3x the money than one might estimate before starting those things! Hope that all goes smoothly, too, James.

I do have the Chuck Burrows knife within easy reach. Can hardly tell it's there, hmm? I most definately NEED a JAMES knife.. One of these days we'll get around to doing some trading. This knife and sheath was some of Chuck's earliest work with bison leather. I lost a few of the cones and beads off of it! Ooops, dang kids messing around with it probably.. I have actually used it a bit and intend to use it some more..why not? To me it's priceless anyway. There's a story behind it. That is the part about the knife that is special. Be mighty fine to have a real alter outside in Gods Cathedral..with some Jesus and Mary statues, perhaps.. I can see that as being something that I would really take care of or would hope to! I don't plan to sell any knives from any of these super talented guys. Blasphemy ... I did give my oldest son my fancy John Cohea knife. That one was real pretty. Doubt my son will use it for anything. Not into any hide or skin work at all. I hope he keeps it.. he may, I've never given him anything super nice, so hopefully the knife will remain special to him. I suppose I could use another fancy John Cohea knife one of these days ;-) Guess John's lost his interest in deer skins but I doubt he'd lose an interest in some of the bones I have, lol.. or some 'just right' bison rawhide, maybe. Anyway I'm sure I could interest him in something very special to his crafting.

No James.. it's got a mark that looks like a figure 8. I put an edge on it with the new knife sharpener and used that blade when I couldn't locate my cheapie knife.. dang thing's handle is coming off but for some reason was working better than the Ecko utility knife. Don't really like to use the special knives for nasty stuff but seriously I just needed a BLADE at the time. looks to be a bit similar in length to the one you have there in your pic, James. Nice knife as usual, keep forging..just BE CAREFUL!! Great looking sheath and blade TM.. Who made it? Sorry that I need to ask.. Not up on these things. Too busy being not very successful at 'tanning'. LOL....I don't tan many but what I DO tan, I tan WELL! How's that for all you discriminating folks.. Don't mean any of you's by that comment but I did have a condescending relative that probably thought that I was well hey..guess what??? I think I AM a starving artist!! I'm sure you folks are all great company and this is what makes the buck rub forum such a great place to hang out.. well I think it's over 20 degrees.. time to get out the washer and flesh some coyotes!!.. those crows are going to be calling all their friends in for a treat!
