Man i think that would look cool for dremacatcher webbing if it long enough.I never seen such! How durable is it,webbing has to be drawn tight.

Neat! I've never spun buffalo. Are you going to make a inkle loom strap for you bag? That would be cool.
I just got me another wheel. It is a double drive. She had been knocked around a bit (cracked), marked on, and a grove in the wheel where they stuck a sharp object while they spun her. Kids, but not mine! I was able to pick her up with some other weaving equipment reasonably. Loren thinks I might need a museum for my hobby if I keep going... lol With some scrubbing and polish, gluing, and new leather washers (wonder where I found those? ), she now spins beautifully. She a Leclerc wheel made in Canada in the 70's. They no long make wheels. She spins smooth and easy like a Cadillac. Now my Ashford Traditional feels like a bumpy tractor ride when I spin on it. lol I love the double drive, I didn't realize how uneven my treadling was.
Don't know how you get it all done ... there are to many fun hobbies.

P.S. : Off to work on another half finished project.

Thanks. Just planning to do some braiding really..no loom needed to do that. Anyway we'll have to see how that works out first!
Congrats on the new wheel! Amazing how those wheels multiply isn't it? Yes I am coming to like the dbl treadle on this last wheel. The traveler wheel I have is a fun little wheel to spin on. I will be needing one more wheel for all my girls and I to spin together! Hmmm one way to get more spun faster? Lol.

A braid sounds cool too.
Yes, wheels for everyone is always an interesting thought.. I have one girl who likes the drop spindle best, and now I have two working wheels plus several drop spindles so I think we are set. Only both wheel spinners prefer the same wheel! lol Both of my wheels are single treadle and have an old traditional look. I have one more wheel that needs "worked" on, but I think it is going to be a big project so I'm thinking about trying to work on it this summer while there is no school. I'm thinking about changing it to a double treadle while I'm at it.
I bet your girls would love a simple loom. They could make small cell phone bags and really cool shoe laces. : )
Take care to enjoy your time with yours girls, they are growing up fast. paweaver

Spindles looms wheels.. it's all about producing and manufacturing and or using or selling! Hard to get the kids into anything other than their schoolwork and they're doing really good on that. Couple of the kids have resorted to baking! So other then taking the time to spin a little and braid a little it's sometimes tough just to keep up with sinksful of dishes and laundry tasks! Baby sitting again this morning.. I lost his BINK! well i got some braiding done and a bit more to go. pic taken today in the daylight.. the braiding/weaving is a bit loose in the middle but might be okay for the intended use. It's pretty soft.. any hair though from the other coat is less than ideally soft! but not too bad.. Don't know how it'll hold up for a backpack strap liner.. going to sandwich some hair and whip stitch some leather on top.. see how that turns out.. been working on that bag project for awhile now. my 'baby', my grand baby,

Thanks for the links TM.. I have never seen anything like those before. Or skin bagpipes either for that matter. LOL.. isn't it interesting how that necklace goes from thick to thin..very uniformly..wow.. seems like not a bad price actually for the talent that had to go into making that.. and the watch thing..wow.. isn't that intricate and one would never know that it was made from hair! Very fascinating and interesting pieces, IMO. They both had to have taken a lot of work and skill to produce! I've saved things that my grandmother had crafted for years.. little pieces of pillowcase doilies that are incredibly intricate.. Don't see much of that work happening these days.. throw away society. Anyway the buff spinnin is just a result of about 4 hours time total.. Curious to see how the longer dark hair will look..
You know who could do some incredible braidworking is Hannes here. His work is very masterful at this.. Hope he shares it with us sometime soon! Bet he could whip up the old Indian hackamore's real easy!

You have a lot of faith in my abilities, TM. That is some extremely interesting art there.. Holy! Thanks for the additional links.. Not sure I will EVER to that but I didn't know it existed.. makes my work look extremely dull and inefficiant in comparison! Neat that you have one of the watch fobs from the past.. Kinda creepy in a way, too, just to think that that was once someone's most priceless treasure, y/k? wow.. neat stuff! Pretty cool how there were how to's and all on some of those links..People from back then brought to life now would really find society to be quite probably deeply depressing!
