I have been having fun working on these beaded caps. the black one was the first one I did. Not my best work, I fought that cap from beginning to end. I redid the bottom row three times and still I am not pleased with it. Looks messy. I pick up the caps at 2nd hand stores so I have to work over what ever logo is on the front of them. Someone recently asked me why I dont just cut them off, but they are so densely sewn that the logo is part of the hat. Ive busted several needles working on these. The black one, I had a design finished on the front aand took it off to redo it. I did the strips first along the front side seams and down the back and over the arch. the strip designs were so fancy and busy that I had to make the main design as flashy as possible in order not to be out done by them. The Pink cap is coming along real well. The lodge design is one that my husband Pinto put on a beaded vest, thats a photo of his design next to the pink cap. Im actually farther/further (take yer pick) along than this photo shows. Im not a fan of pink, but the quality of the hat was such, I could not pass it up. Note welt int he brim. Dont see that too often. I have all sorts of plans for more hats and am excited to finish the pink one and start on another one. I decided not to bead the rim of the brim on the black hat, but might do it to this one.

The black one was a labor of love. A beading job like that should only take two to three days, if even that ! I fought that cap for a month, beading and taking beads out, hundreds at a time. Putting it away for days then starting again. It was frustrating. My husband started a beaded vest with both sides of the front fully beaded, and finished it before I finished the cap. I'll never hear the end of that ! haha. Thanks for the comments. bgp

After doing lots of cutting off of beads, designs etc, and beading occasionally, here is the pink cap so far. I had really tried to keep it clean but see that I will have to wash it before I sell it and probably put some sizing back into it. It has become overly flexible at the front, side seams. Still need to do the strip down the back and the arch. Still not sure about beading the edge of the brim. I've experimented a bit with beading the edge, but dont like how it comes out for me. This photo makes the cap look slightly taller than it is. And p hoto of the vest.
