Well, my projects have been put on hold for about 10 days while my left hand heals... I cut it about 1/2 inch to 3/4 deep from the middle of my palm around the meaty part near the pinky. 14 external stitches, placed 1/4 inch apart, ought to give you an idea of the length. 4 internal ones to sew the muscle back up. Fresh cut sheetmetal is as dangerous as any blade, so y'all be careful!
Just to top off the day, one of my rescued dawgs I've had for 10 years just dropped dead. fine in the morning, dead when I got home from the Horsepistol. At 70 lbs, I was diggin a big hole at 9 pm with one hand. I know God has his reasons, but damn I've had better days.

I've worked with metal my whole life (dang near anyway) and this is the worst I've done.
TM, yup, thick skin, and something that looks a lot like the stuff what ya find inside a stretch armstrong (disturbing, but true!)

Holy crap, that hurts from here....Mine was closer to the thumb,i was breaking a manzanita limb and it splintered right where i was holdin it. When i worked for the county road dept. there was a feller working on a dozer,he was greasing the certs to tightin the tracks and the cert blew off like a 22 bullet, went through the palm of his hand all the way to the top skin but didn't go through, filled the top skin with grease like a small hill and a huge blister, the threads on the cert had failed, they had to lance the top of his hand to get the grease out..Ya never stop learning huh...BUT!You will go right on outside and go workin with that hand and your next post will be "Hand Infected~~ LOL Can ya use that hand Depety LOL, Henry Fonda askin Richard Widmark

Nuther couple days. I have about half the stitches out, but the really deep part is gonna need a couple more days, The shallower section in the center of the palm is healed already... it's been 5 1/2 days

here's 8 days worth of healing... I took all the stitches out then now the pink is where my callous has been peeling off, leaving only the scar. The blood spots you see is where the skin peeled a bit too deep.

Naw, it's healed... The Ironic thing is the pain from the tetanus shot lasted longer than the cut
