Cody, DPs have not been outlawed, just the ones they sell on Wolfer Nation! Ok, don't know if that is true, but here's how I heard it--any dp with a less than 2 inch opening is out. Far as I know, Clint has the largest dp on the market, so maybe it has more than a 2" opening? The law doesn't make a lick of sense to me. We are allowed 6.5 inch regular footholds.
Why would he be using #4's for coon? I still like the #11 for coon. (and for those who don't know, a #11 is just a #1 with two springs)

Well Clint likes to use big traps with extra big pans and believes the big trap is too heavey to fight so less damage is done .What I dont understand is if ist ok to use #4s whats the problem ? I havent ever used any DPs but plan to .Have been told that they will also take a canine once in a while and will take house cats .I dont really understand some laws except that they are just getting all they can when they can to steal our rights .I will be wackin and stackin till they pry my cold dead hands off the springs

real strange here in Oklahoma too. You can take beaver, year round, state wide, no limit, with either bow or rifle. You can trap all you want, but they place restrictions on what kind of trap you can use. That restriction has changed every year I've been here, first year was no trap with a jaw size greater than 8 inches, next year it had to be offset jaws. It will change again I'm sure. Some of the stores were selling poison for beaver control. They havn't restricted anything but the type of traps and the methods used.
