Navajo make this by grinding blue corn and boiling this in water and they add ashes made by putting cedar leaves on a hot griddle and leaving till ashes and then stored in jars .add ashes as you would salt and boil corn till done it should be a little thiner than grits but not much . The cedar they use is a cedar found in the Rockys it looks like the cedars here and the leaf looks alike till they are side by side .you can use salt instead and white corn instead of blue .Eat this for breakfast.
