If you want your rifle to shoot more accurately, the best thing to do to it is one of two things. Take it to a gunsmith and have the trigger pull honed down from what the factory has it set. Or have the gunsmith to install an aftermarket trigger like Timney so it can be adjusted down. Most factory rilfes come from the factory with a heavy trigger pull, about 6 to 6 1/2 pounds. that's way too much for shooting good, but their lawyers wants it that way. If you hunt, you need to trigger pull down to no more than 3 1/2 pounds of pull. Even down a little more would help if you want to reach way on out yonder with those extra long shots. Everything I buy or trade for goes straight to the gunsmith to adjust the trigger pull before I use it to hunt with.

i agree.thats why i like winchester model 70's and browning a bolts, they have adjustable trigger pulls.all it takes is a scale and the right size wrench.my daddy installed a Timny trigger in his m77 Ruger.it's like a new gun.my model 70 has a 3 pound trigger pull.it's as smooth as glass.
