I'm new to this, but a few months back at a small rendezvous I was giving a cup full of something the guy called "apple beer". What he did to make it,, if I remember what he said, was take a jub of apple juice (walmart brand works), pour about half of it into another container with a tight lid. Pour in a package of flechmans yeast, set it in the fridge for two weeks, un capping the lid once in a while to let the pressure off. It went something like that. I tried it, but i got sort of a milky looking stuff lurking around in the bottom of the bottle. It had about the same taste as his, but I was a little afraid to try much of it. Some days it would pressure up, and some days it would not. His beer was foaming-- big time! Mine would not, but at times it would try, other times it would lay flat. Has anyone ever tried this? I'm hoping to create the same brew this guy had, it was pretty good stuff. It had a little bit of an apple juice taste and a little bit of beer taste. Sounds odd, but it wasn't bad at all.

Nope ain`t never tried it. Is the yeast fresh. Check the xperation date on it. Might try it myself. Sounds intresting. Wonder what would happen if you used apple cider instead of apple juice?

thanks for the reply Caretaker,, I'm assuming the yeast was good enough because for a few times this science project bubbled up great, but then it would stop and then later again bubble up. I don't know what will happen with cider although i'm going to try it also. I understand some people have to seperate the beer when it's ready, by siphon, so i assume others have the same milky looking stuff in the process. I think this stuff has a great taste. I'm not much of a beer drinker and I'm not even fond of apple juice. I'd rather eat the apple for breakfast and that evening have a shot of whiskey. But this stuff left a good impression on me. If i can get it to work I'll have to figure out how to take it to rendezvous in the appropriate container next.
