Grizz do you allow it to dry completely then brain, like Matt Richards talked about on the DVD? I am afraid to attempt I have too many problems with ants here, they get into everything if I'm not careful.

me and grizz do it the same way.we do it just like in Matt's video. i'll hang it to dry on a swing we have here in the back yard.when it's dry you can't hardly bend it.it is hard as hell to get in the bucket of brains.i usually get it in there the best i can and let it soak a few minuets, and then force it in some more until it is submerged completely.may take a little longer for it to soak up the oils in the brains, don't know for sure, cuz this is the only way i've ever done it. it does allow you to skip a wringing step so i guess thats good.i let my dry and then move them in my shop until i'm ready to brain them.i got 6 hides thats been dried in my shop since october.i have a lot of fire ants on my place to haven't had no problems.i've always keep them hung up

Stupid Question About how long does it take for the hide to dry? Hours, days? Also does it have an oder after it dries out. Reason I am asking this is if it don't smell I can keep it in my spare room in my house to protect it from the ants.

depends on the weather.i let mine hang outside on a swing till completely dried.when it was real cold here it took about 3 days outside to completely dry.it's been kind of warm this pass week. had one dry almost over night.it was dried when i came home from work. i have not had no kind of smells in mine, and had mine in my closet for a few days after it dried. to me its a good step to use.you can get your hides to this point and stop if you had to.you also can skip a wringing step completely .my only gripe about this step is,it's hard to get in the buckett of brains,BUT quicker and easier than wringing it is sloppy wet when you first finish it

I believe I gonna give that a try. It would free up some freezer space that I need badly.
