all right friends and neighbors, i was thinking of cooler weather and rendezvous today. so i'm wondering what you wear to rendezvous. do you dress like a mountain man, or a indian. maybe you dress like a long hunter or a settler from the east. post some pictures in your finest or worst get up, so we can all see. maybe we can give each other new ideas. here i am in my mountain man get up

Nice. I really like your felt hat, low crown and wide brim. Will have to dig in old photos for other colder weather rendezvous clothing, but here's one of Little Runner of the Woods , many moons ago at a voo, Upper Priest Lake, Northern Idaho. Stylin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks long trail. the patch knife i made. i found a knife blade lying in a ditch and ground the tang to fit in a doe leg bone. i just filled the bone up with epoxy stuck the blade in and let dry. the picture don't show it good but my rifle is a cap lock. i made the quirt from a deer horn i found in the woods. yes all are my hides that i have tanned. the vest is braintan buckskin on the back,( that i kind of sort of used your method on ) the front of the vest is alum tanned deer skin. i made the belt from a piece of saddle leather with a roller buckle. my bullet pouch , pants, strike a lite and mocs are brain tan that i have made into something useful. the belt knife is in a buffalo raw hide sheath that i made. the buff raw hide came from bad hand. i also made the coyote hat. the wide brim low crown hat i had made by lil' grizz who is a hat maker in kansas

The only thing I have ever seen a horse's tail tied like that, was for walking trail in a pack line or just line of horses. Is there another reason? My son (in above photo) was called Sparrow Hawk for his rendezvous name. We use to paint black lines down his face like the sparrow hawk has. The black on your face sort of reminded me of it. Great Photo. Another Background from RT! cool.
